Kylin — Wear a Hood for Good Program
Kylin Network is building a decentralized data infrastructure for the people, governed by the people. Step-by-step, the project will gradually turn into a Decentralized Autonomous Organization over the following 4 years. We believe in a decentralized future in which P2P will be the standard. The possibilities are endless and that doesn’t only go for feeding data.
Building a solid community is of the utmost importance to turn Kylin into the success is can be. The team really values the opinion of their community and is willing to listen to ideas, and act accordingly. One of the things that has been suggested by the community (thank you for bringing this up @mango_coca!), and really stuck with the team, was trying to figure out a way to help less fortunate children.
Kylin Network has been giving away/rewarding community members with Kylin hoodies and noticed that there is a pretty high demand for it. Every time pictures of merchandise are posted on social media, the team receives a lot of requests by community members who ask if it is possible to buy these.
The Goal and The Cause
One of the biggest advantages of cryptocurrency payments is the possibility to donate charity directly to the source. No middlemen taking out money on the way to its final destination, but P2P transactions to those who need it!
Since it was never the intention to make money from merchandise, the team saw an opportunity to make a positive impact.
Wear a Hood for Good Program
Therefore, Kylin Network will begin with selling merchandise soon, starting with the Kylin bannered hoodies and expanding if there is demand.
- The team will charge costs that will cover the materials and shipment and add 20% to the price as ‘profit’.
- On top of that the Kylin Network team will also chip in 20% for every purchase that is done! This ‘profit’ will be fully used to donate to good causes that aim to help out children who can really use a hand.
- We will announce what we have raised and the associated charity quarterly.
Pricelist and delivery time
Since this initiative is run voluntarily and out of one single country (at least at the start of it) people buying must realize it will take some time for the order to make its way across the globe.
Below you can find the prices you will pay for ordering and shipment of a hoodie and the expected amount of time it will take for the shipment to arrive. As stated, Kylin Network will add 20% to the price.
- Europe: $63.25 (including $6.25 for the cause)
- Others continents will pay $73.25 (including $6.25 for the cause)
- Add to this what Kylin will chip in and every shipped hoodie will make for $12.50 that goes to a good cause.
