Sam Elamin — Technical Interface / Data Engineering Lead
We are thrilled to announced that Sam Elamin joins the Kylin Core Team officially as of May 1st, 2021. Many Kylians will already be familiar with Sam as a very active member of the community, consistently engaging and discussing more technical aspects of Kylin Network with great ease and patience, inspiring many Kylians to dive deeper into the implications of our build; indeed, Sam was our sole ‘Technical Ambassador’ for a short time.
We were extremely impressed by Sam over the past months and his interest and passion in Kylin Network. He will continue to communicate that interest and passion while becoming more deeply involved in the day-to-day activities of building out aspects of Kylin Network along with our Development Team.

What Sam will do
From a high level, Sam’s role will be to interface between the public and our development team, while leveraging his awesome experience within the realm of data engineering, which covers 10 years of successive software development and data engineering roles.
Sam will:
- Liaise with and support Project Lead and Technical Team
- Create Technical documents and walk throughs
- Work/coding on various pallets
- Act as the main Technical ‘go-between’ with public, community, and partners
- Evangelize the Kylin solution
- Assist with design and deploy for PLO
- Assist with design and deploy for Rococo testnet / parachain
Sam’s Background and Experience
Sam was previously Lead Data Engineer for Sony Playstation, Bitgame Labs, and most recently Discovery Digital Networks.
Sam is a Big Data Engineer and Apache Spark evangelist, interested in Big Data, Metrics Driven Development, Continuous Delivery and is currently exploring Real Time Analytics, as as well as streaming tools and frameworks like Apache Spark, Kinesis, Kafka and Google Big Query. He has an abiding interest in blockchain technology and how it can be leveraged with Big Data frameworks.
